Duo-show with Mary-Ruth Walsh/Ireland and Sibylle Feucht at space-o/Düsseldorf, curated by Kai Richter/Dusseldorf.
Both artists share their interest in spacial structures that function as containers, developed to serve a special purpose. Once this purpose is lost, not necessary or not used any more, these structures are liberated from serving a need/task, allowing to be perceived differently. In that respect the artistic approach by Walsh and Feucht reveals political, philosophical and economic aspects equally, since everything and everyone is serving a purpose in our systems and not serving a purpose becomes an act of resistance and subversion.
