Cope Cage

Armored military vehicles modified with cages, chains, netting, and bars to shield them from drone attacks – improvised responses to a form of warfare for which the original armour was never designed.

The drawings on the thin plastic foils move and breathe silently with every visitor that passes by – appearing more like mythical creatures than military hardware. – What was intended as protection transforms into ornament, while the protected core reveals its own vulnerability.

The international artist collective “Life during Wartime” , named after a song by Talking Heads, develops their group exhibitions out of exchange and shared processes. All projects are developed with an emphasis on non-hierarchical structures.
